Today, for a research centre like Phanous, it's inevitable to use IT technologies to improve its services and activities.
Your role at Phanous is to contribute to need assessment and take full control of implementation and maintenance of services such as website, wiki, etc. Also, you'll join the effort of innovative automation of our processes.
At Phanous you will be part of a diverse research and innovation centre which collaborates and interacts closely with academia and industry. You therefore must have the necessary soft and interpersonal skills required to work productively in such a dynamic environment.
- The SE will report to the PIs
- Take responsibility for the quality, reliability, and availability of systems and services.
- Participate in brainstorming and ideation of new services for Phanous.
- Act as a systems and services owner (Deploy, Operate, Support, Monitor, Troubleshoot, Maintain, Automate, Document, etc.)
- Ability to work and communicate well with non-technical staff
- Develop support processes and procedures
- Create technical and non-technical documentation and guides.
- Experience within a relevant position
- Experience in Linux/Unix systems administration
- Experience in networking (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, etc.)
- Proficient in at least one scripting language (Shell scripting, Python, etc.)
- Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
- Willingness to take responsibility, accountability, and ownership
- Self-driven and self-motivated
- Familiarity with one or more:
- Back-end frameworks (Django, Express.js, Gin, etc.)
- containerization technologies (Docker, rkt, LXC, etc.)
- using orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Swarm, Rancher, etc.)
- alerting, logging, and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, etc.)
- And possibly any other automation tools
